Teach students about fake news using existing online games. Students can play all the games, or groups of students can play different games and report to the rest of the class:

Ask students to play the games on their own, and discuss in class what the games reveal about misinformation and disinformation. You could also ask them to reflect in writing on what the games revealed to them about fake news: the different types, the mechanisms behind how fake news spreads, etc.

These games will help you explore fake news (misinformation and disinformation) in more detail, and understand how and why it occurs, and how to evaluate information you find online.

Average time it takes students to complete this activity

Around 2 or 3 hours to play the games if they will play all of them. Less time if they will choose one or two only.
