Copyright and Creative Commons

It is important to learn the ins and outs of copyright, fair use, and creative commons licenses, and for students to learn to only use material (including images, videos, music, etc.) that they have the right to use, that is either public domain, creative commons-licensed, or within a fair use context. Generative Artificial Intelligence

  • Practical AI for Instructors and Students: This YouTube playlist from Ethan and Lilach Mollick explains how Generative Artificial Intelligence works in a really accessible and bite-sized manner.
  • How Teachers Can Harness AI in Our Work: This includes slides, resources and a video recording of a webinar by Anna Mills on the topic. It includes some ground rules about using generative AI, specific ways to write and use prompts, and ideas for how teachers can harness AI in their own teaching, including for writing syllabi, rubrics and grant proposals.
  • Teaching AI Ethics: The Series: This is a series by Leon Furze that teachers can use in order to teach about AI Ethics. It includes various dimensions of AI ethics including copyright, labor and environmental impact, and has an easy-to-use infographic to help teachers introduce the topic.
  • AUC’s Artificial Intelligence Resources by the Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT): A one-stop-shop by AUC’s CLT that has up-to-date resources on AI as well as specific guidelines for AUC students and intsructors.
