Add a Forum Activity in Moodle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Enter the course <\/li>
  2. Click on Turn Editing On<\/strong> to activate editing <\/li>
  3. Go to the topic where you want the forum to be placed <\/li>
  4. Click + Add an activity or resource.<\/strong> <\/li>
  5. Select Forum <\/strong>and then click the Add<\/strong> button. (You will be redirected to the Adding a new Forum <\/strong>page) <\/li>
  6. Go to the Name <\/strong>field, and give your Forum a name <\/li>
  7. Add the purpose of the forum in the Description<\/strong> field<\/li>
  8. Select a forum type<\/strong> from the drop-down menu. The default is Standard forum for general use<\/em> <\/li>
  9. Scroll to the end of the page, and click save and return to course<\/strong> button. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    There are multiple forum types in Moodle. Some forum types allow only the instructor to start a new topic, and others allow students to start new topics. Choose the type of forum that makes sense for the activity you are asking your students to do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
